How To Use The M24 In Close Quarters
It may sound strange, but the M24 can be a powerful option for close ranged fights in Battlegrounds. Play around it’s weaknesses and you can dominate inner-city fights.
In close-ranged encounters, the M24 can be useful but only in a number of very specific circumstances.
Before you hop into close ranged combat, first make sure that your M24 is equipped with a close-ranged scope. Using an 8x inside a city isn’t going to be very practical. Next, keep in mind that you can switch to your secondary faster than it takes to bolt a new shot.
Regardless if you hit or miss an enemy, it’s wise to switch to your secondary weapon after firing a shot. If you wait for another round to be bolted, you have roughly 2/3rds of a second of vulnerability. It sounds like a short time but in the heat of the moment this can make or break your game.
Even without body armor, the M24 cannot one-shot body shot a player, so always aim for the head.
How To Use The M24 At Long Distances
The M24 has a slightly increased bolt time over the Kar98K and AWM, which means it’s essentially the fastest firing sniper rifle in the game. As a result, you’ll be able to trade shots with other snipers more efficiently.
Hopefully, you won’t need to trade shots with other snipers, however. If you get the headshot on a player you’ll kill them instantly unless they’re wearing a level 3 helmet. The M24 does 99 damage to a level 3 helmet.
As with all snipers, there are some tips to consider when engaging players at long range. We’ve listed the best tips below.
- Only shoot when you’re confident you can hit somebody.
- Always aim for the head. Body shots won’t kill a player.
- If you manage to hit a player, switch to your AR to finish off the kill.
Hopefully, you can use these tips to optimize your M24 usage.
