How To Use The MK14 In Close Quarters
The MK14 is considered most useful at long ranges, but it does surprisingly well at close quarters. There are two effective methods for using this weapon at close range and we’ll explain both of these below.
There are two styles of play for using the MK14 – the style you use will depend on whichever you’re more comfortable with. Typically, the first style of play requires you to get closer to the target to be more accurate. We’re talking 10 meters or less.
The second style can be useful up to 100 meters, or even further if you’re able to see clearly past this distance.
For style one, it’s all about using third person. You must use the environment around you to get as close to the enemy as possible. Once you’re close enough, you can spam the MK14 in third person. Recoil is easier to control in third person, so all you need to do is aim at a player’s chest and spam.
This style works best when you’re as close as possible – the third person spread gets pretty bad at longer distances.
For style two, you’ll need to be quick with the inventory. The method for using style two is to swap out to a spare red dot whenever you’re about to enter a close quarters engagement. You can then swap back out to your 8x when the combat is over.
Style two is certainly the most optimum tactic for close quarter play in our PUBG MK14 guide, but it requires you to be quick on the fingers when it comes to switching sights.
Best Way To Use The Mk14 At Longer Distances
The MK14 is a little tricky to get used to at longer ranges, but this is where it absolutely shreds. The only thing to consider is that the kick is very heavy. In fact, on the 8x and 4x the kick is so much that it can be quite disorientating at first.
To use the MK14 better at longer distances, you need to pace your shots. Pay close attention to where your bullets are landing too, so that you can adjust the shot if necessary. You typically only need 2-3 shots to down a player, so take your time. Patience is key here.
